BOEING'S next-generation 787 dreamliner has resumed test flights after an electrical fault caused a fire during testing in November. Boeing has now found an "interim" solution to the problem by installing updated power distribution system software.
Scott Fancher, vice-president of the 787 programme, said: Initially, we will resume a series of BOEING tests that remain to be completed in the flight test programme. That testing will be followed later by a resumption of certification testing.
Fancher said the revised delivery schedule for the already heavily delayed aircraft will be announced in January.
Although delayed, demand remains high for the new aircraft model
